Concrete is durable. It won't rot, shatter, splinter, etc. Maintenance
is simple. Lawn mower wheels fit easily on the leading edge. Clean
up with an edger, or trimmer without damaging the edging. To keep
the curb clean just brush it off with a broom or hose it off with water.
In an effort to help you better understand the process we have
provided an insight on how work will be performed.
Before:
A member of our professional staff will meet with you or your
landscaper at your home to review your proposed curbing project
area. We'll supply you with our knowledge and ideas and work with
you to come up with the best design layout possible. We will then
measure your area and give you a written estimate.
During:
We will install your beautiful new curbing using the highest quality
materials and equipment. Our crew makes efforts to keep and
leave the jobsite clean and neat. During the process some excess
cement may be present around the areas installed. It is very difficult
to remove this concrete while it is still wet. After a 24-hour curing period, it can be picked up in small pieces and thrown away or mixed with topsoil.
After:
Your extruded curbing is set to cure upon completion of the project. The concrete curb does not need to be sprayed or misted with water. Such actions will most likely discolor the curb. If it begins to rain within 6 hours after we leave the job, try to cover the curb with plastic. Irrigation, backwash from pool, condensate lines, or rain can damage the curb during the first 24 hours.
Make sure sprinkler systems are not activated for at least 24 hours.
Take extra precaution to keep pets, children, and objects away from the curb for at least 24 hours. It will be "hard" to the touch at this point, but will still need a few days to completely harden or cure. Refrain from testing the "hardness" of the curb. At this point, the curb is still very fragile.
